David, I'm anxiously awaiting more Podcasting 101 posts from you - we're ready to start trying it out nad I have no background in recording audio so I need all the help I can get (BTW is there any possibility we could call it "audiocasting" instead of "podcasting"? That sounds so Appley). Probably not, I suppose it's too deeply imbedded in the terminological culture by now. Too bad; then we could have called the next wave videocasting. Simpler, more accurate, more descriptive. Maybe I should take out a patent on the term.

Anyway in regards to the perfect platform, I was recently reading about how many software startups are bundling their wares in with hardware and creating a new market for devices. Why don't you sit down with a systems designer and put together a reasonably priced notebook machine with all the audio in and out puts you need to do a decent job, bundle it with Audacity or Mixcastlive or something, and sell it? There's going to be a HUGE market for something like that in my opinion...use your industry contacts, make a fortune!
