Do you have a wireless card in the PC?
The only way, If I understand computers is that you must have wireless hardware for the wireless software to work. If I'm wrong please advise me!

Actiontec is providing a wireless ready DSL modem and is showing up in a lot of places these days. It's totally cool! People can network their homes in an instant and the neighbors can visit too.

WEP makes it hard for the average neighbor to get in. It's kind of like locking your doors, if they really want in they'll do it. My method is to make it very difficult and setup as many hoops to jump as possible.

If you have the Actiontec DSL modem just log in on your gateway IP usually 192.168.0.1 unless it's been changed. Go to your advanced settings and disable the wireless feature. It's been my experience so far that the feature is not enabled by default anyway. Look at your lights, is the Wireless one on?

I have to use wireless in some situations and found that if you WEP the network and then disable the (God forbid) DHCP and set your IP range to be only large enough for the total units on your network. There is basically no room for the neighbors to come in and if they try you'll get an IP conflict error on your computers. This is a tip you need to pay a visit and take your neighbor out to the back ally and beat some security into their heads :?)
