The Itanic hasn't sunk yet
because its floating in 2 feet of water (its market share). InHell specifically added an x86 core to the Itanic for "backward compatability" - yet no one flocked to Itanic. As I said before, when Moore's Law runs out (2 more generations of chips - around 40nm), the only way to get more "bang" would be to simplify the chip design - and have MORE registers and ALUs - and less support for extra Op codes. This is when the Itanic will become unsinkable - if it doesn't rust out first . . .
