more lies - explained
I'm glad that somebody besides me is exposing this horrible media quality. I've been spreading it word of mouth until now.

I would like to add that most music listeners, especially younger than 40, are not aware that they are missing out on much of the beauty built into original produced recordings. Most of them down even own any CDs or even know what a CD is. I used to have a joke about kids who don't know what an LP is. NOw I have updated the joke. Kids don't know what a CD is!

I bought a $3000 stereo for my Mercedes, with build in XM, Ipod and CD players. I could tell without looking if it was XM, Ipod or CD... easily. Here's how I do it. It it sounds completely crappy, it's XM. If it sounds ok, but not beautiful, it's Ipod. If it makes me cry, it's CD.

XM has a marketing strategy where they say there music is "digital quality". They fooled me too in the beginning. There are several different variations of digital quality. Let the buyer be ware - it is way below original production quality.

When you buy a song from Itunes, don't think that it's original production quality.

Here's how I break it down:

This graph is not proportionally accurate.

If you love music, buy yourself a good system and buy yourself some CDs.

Love,

Josh
