This is the problem
"To me, this is complex issue with no simple answers because if we believe in
intellectual property, then Microsoft has the right to license a technology as they
see fit."

NOT in an OS.

If MS were split up, OS and Software, this would not be an issue.
Operating systems should allow anyone to do anything with software that a user
chooses to create or install. If not they should be reanamed Dictatory Systems.
DS for short.

Classic Case of Microsoft vs Small Company  nucrash | 03/05/07
EMC isn't exactly a small company  t_mohajir | 03/05/07
Novell wasn't a small tyke either  nucrash | 03/05/07
This is the problem  LittleGuy | 03/05/07
Very simple  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
I agree with you, Internet Explorer should not be free!  B.O.F.H. | 03/05/07
Wrong.  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
There are several products that Microsoft gives away for "free".  B.O.F.H. | 03/05/07
Perhaps so, but as stated so well here  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
So you will stop crying on these boards then?  B.O.F.H. | 03/05/07
B.O.F.H.  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
well, then stop OSS free software  zzz1234567890 | 03/05/07
You are confused as usual!  B.O.F.H. | 03/06/07
I can't tell...  dragosani | 03/05/07
Key point in your post...  jasonp@... | 03/05/07

Confused?  dragosani | 03/05/07
So you understand  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
No I don't agree  dragosani | 03/05/07
I guess it's more of the idea.  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
I Applaud You  Ole Man | 03/05/07
Since you know that  xuniL_z | 03/06/07
"MS has never left the consumer w/o choice.", it just keeps getting funnier  jmelnik | 03/06/07
Your blaming the wrong people.  xuniL_z | 03/06/07
not a laughing matter.  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
Google  dragosani | 03/05/07
Not according to  Linux User 147560 | 03/05/07
LOL, yeah  dragosani | 03/05/07
I don't believe that Linus  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
No the Linux folks  Linux User 147560 | 03/05/07
come on now.  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
So because people are asking why  Linux User 147560 | 03/05/07
meanwhile you ignored  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
Because your comments on Linus are speculative  Linux User 147560 | 03/05/07
LU, you call this speculative?  xuniL_z | 03/08/07
I realize most of this but  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
Sigh  dragosani | 03/05/07
* sigh sigh*  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
Google is far from owning the Internet  dragosani | 03/05/07
okie dokie.  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
What country do you live in?  dragosani | 03/05/07
I'm quite sure that Google  xuniL_z | 03/05/07

Get A Clue  Ole Man | 03/05/07
Contrast MS to Google.  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
Yes!  Ole Man | 03/05/07
Are you sure about that?  thelemite | 03/05/07

I would have to say based on your statement  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
"justice cannot be applied"  jacarter3 | 03/05/07

well  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
xunil_z says "j.a. carter (aka jack a$$ Carter)"  jacarter3 | 03/06/07

That's fine.  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
xuniL_z, you are wrong on too many counts!  B.O.F.H. | 03/05/07
If you feel that way  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
What About Your Intent?  Ole Man | 03/05/07
"Funny since MS as not pricing anyone out of business"  jacarter3 | 03/05/07
Why in the world would someone  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
I wouldn't admit to anything, either  Ole Man | 03/05/07
There was competition on x86: CP/M-86  NetArch. | 03/06/07

Why?  Linux User 147560 | 03/05/07
For the same reason that I can't  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
And yet non-monopoly companies do it all the time.  Linux User 147560 | 03/05/07
I may allow for the  xuniL_z | 03/05/07
