Great article George - couldn't agree more.

The only definite area where megapixels are a bit of a scam is in the amateur digicam market. My mom was very proud to come home with a 8 megapixel camera (which a good salesman obviously had something to do with), only to not realise every picture she was taking was at 640x480 resolution! And she seemed quite upset and confused when I told her she didn't need 8 megapixels anyway if she never prints her photos (which she doesn't).

Ah well ... it happened to MHz, maybe it'll happen to Megapixels.
