Intel becoming a lean mean CPU company?
Every step that Intel has been taking in these last few months has been to become a smaller and more agressive company. Before they were becoming big and bulky, but I don't know if that will continue at this current rate.

If they managed to trim away all the managers from that layoff without taking any of the good as well as slim down a few other portions, they could quickly become a rival that AMD won't be able to compete with.

Last I checked with AMD, they claim they will still be working to get their performance crown back by Christmas.
