This is an Intel Doped test
Intel the Doper Duped Anand The Cheerleader, simple as that. As I showed here http://sharikou.blogspot.com/2006/03/woodcrest-will-be-10-20-slower-than.html , Woodcrest will be 10-20% slower than Opteron 280. There is no way that Conroe (the same chip as Woodcrest) can be faster than FX60. The only plausible conclusion is Intel doped the Conroe box. This should not be surprising, considering Intel's other doping activities.

As you can see the TechReport.com report (http://techreport.com/etc/2006q1/conroe/index.x?pg=1 ), the testers weren't reduced to button pushers running stuff pre-arranged by INTEL. INQ had some harsh word for INTEL's setup too: http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=30177

Initially, INTEL had an old BIOS which couldn't even recogize the AMD CPU. However, after public outcry, later INTEL invited Anand back for a re-test. Why could Anand get such favoured treatment while folks such as TechReport were treated less nicely?

After Anand did the first test, he quickly wrote "Intel Regains Peformance Crown", which was 100% premature judgement. In any case, Conroe won't be released until 6 months later. You can't even say INTEL "will regain performance crown", because we don't know what AMD will do in 6 months. So Anand definitely looked like a very eager Intel cheerleader there.

The whole thing is fishy.

No serious media should report this suspicious romantic encounter between INTEL and Anand. There is big money at stake for INTEL and consumers here. To be responsible, please investigate the circumstances before juimping into conclusions.
