House building
When I had my house built, I purchased a 1000' roll of CAT 3 wire (it was a few years ago), and the builder gave me ONE DAY to do what I needed to do to wire up the place. I ran 2 wires into each room, and had ALL of the runs end in the basement. This allowed me to have my telephone and internet come into every room (and NOT paying the builder's price of $50-$100/drop). Although wireless is "easier" to deploy, if you are building a house, its worth your time (4-8 hours) and money ($50 box of cable) to pull those wires. Its easy, cheap and SECURE for both internet and telephone.
