My wife and I are currently getting ready to ditch cable (because of the
price) and get our programming from the internet. We like HULU
because there are a lot of programs and movies that are free, but with
short commercials which are tolerable. This along with other things
available on the internet.

We've looked at Apple TV, but there is no access to the internet other
that radio and Youtube. Because of logistics, the only way our
computer can connect to the TV is via wireless. Television on Apple TV
is OK except for the $1.99 and $2.99 per program price. Watch a
couple programs each evening and it's getting pretty expensive. $30
per month might be something we would consider.

What I'm looking at now is a MacMini that would sit next to the TV so
we could do everything the Apple TV can as well as pull things directly
off the internet and play DVD's.

As I've been looking into this and talking with other people, I'm finding
quite a few people are getting rid of cable and getting there programs
over the internet or other sources. The networks should investigate
what people are doing with the cable companies. Might be that
someday, everything is going to come from the internet and cable
companies will be a thing of the past.
