In other words, you think that the only form of
productivity is endless chatter.
IMHO the real productivity tools are the ones
you don't see on every computer - because
they're they stuff that's designed for a
particular task, and tasks vary depending on
your job and hobbies.
"Laptops are fancy, but desktops will do."
And truth be told, desktops are still cheap.
"Most applications aren?t widely adopted."
Adoption != usage. I'm willing to bet those
that aren't adopted so much are used the most
when they are adopted.

hourly."
Hourly? Wow.
I suppose that just means people are using the
built in notifications. It pops up when you
have mail. I don't think people are actually
