From CIO to CEO
The very best way for a CIO to connect with a CEO is to walk in his/her shoes. This is your first point, Jason, to "get between the CEO's ears," and it is spot on. I'd prefer walking in their shoes, because it's really more than thinking like the CEO. You almost need to shadow them for a few days to see what the concerns really are.

But ultimately, anytime the CIO affects revenue, profitability, profitable growth, customer sat, or innovation, they will always have the CEO's attention.

The key is to package your thinking and your story so that your CEO gets those messages loud and clear. Great video Jason!
