Good!
AppleTV has never been and was never intended to be a CABLE
box. It's a WEB box, and I think people who have been pushing
for all the DVR, BlueRay, cable-interface, etc. functionality
really don't understand that concept. With TiVo and DVR boxes
that cable/sat providers have, why should Apple get into that
business? Good call on Apple's part.

The very large and important difference between cable and the
web is that cable content adheres to a fixed schedule, where
the web does not. So why do you need DVR capability? You can
watch whatever you want whenever you want on the web. My
crystal ball says that more and more people will choose the
web over cable as a content source in the future.
