very idealistic, but...
like all sunshine information projects...

it depends on the accuracy of the data!

electric companies make their money...their real money selling "ON PEAK" hours, in fact, in Northern MD/Pennsylvania there is a power plant that ONLY goes on to service ON PEAK hours!

what most americans fail to realize -- electricity can't be stored (efficiently)! therefore the laws of supply and demand DON'T justify the notion of a "free" market where the laws of supply and demand can work their magic.

therefore, if electricity producers don't "publish" timely accurate data on the smart grid -- the system will fail even before the first communication unit is produced.

what is the mechanism to convince electric companies NOT to make even more $$$$$ during ON PEAK hours?
