Don't forget cable media center PVR...
I liked Dish and Direct TV too, but now live where that is not allowed. ATI TV-Wonder and home theater system to the rescue!!

Now I can watch and record movies, ect., on my cable compliant HDTV module, and back them up on blu-ray if necessary. I have been running one for about nine months now, and it is more reliable than the Motorola set-top box that was issued with the HD service. Good thing my cable provider is bullish on the customer choosing and owning their own equipment.

Many of those cable company provided devices are way too short on recording space on their dual tuner/hard-drive arrangements, so I'm glad my provider encourages Mcard controlled HDTV media centers. This gives me 1 terrabyte of recording space, and a blu-ray back up capability at the same time.

Not to mention all the other high def activities I can perform through the media module for still and HD movie cameras, and blue tooth enabled cell service.

Todays desk-top PC can become pretty packed with hardware and capability, and it's a wonder Vista can handle all of it reliably. I will admit to considerable growing pains but all seems very smooth and reliable now, especially since SP1.

There is also no doubt in my mind that it is quad core, 4Gb RAM(minimum), dual HD tuner/HDD, 64 bit computing from now on, with this generation of technology.
