Well for starters...
I believe Nokia has denied this rumor.

Second when are you going to realize that Google doesn't really need any hardware partner for Android. Its the other way around. The hardware makers need Android and its quite clear to see that they understand this. If you haven't noticed...the IPhone is pretty much on its way to becoming synonymous with cell phone. If the other phone makers want to keep up they are going to need to offer a similar experience. Blackberry made an initial try and failed. Palm has tried and I think they will do ok. The rest would have to develop from scratch or try to coax WinMo as HTC was doing but now they have Android as a basis.

Thats all Android needs to sell itself. Consumers don't so much care about Android as the phone makers do. In the end the consumer often won't know or care that they are running Android. They will know that they have the Magic, G1, Xperia (possible Android version coming), Hero, NuviFone and the rest of the 18-20 Android phones coming out this year. Its really not that difficult to understand. Of course this is all for page views I'm sure.
