Socialism rocks! let's have it alll for free

gas should be free too: after all we all use it.
and electricity.
And water.
In fact, anything that I use should be free.
The government must pay!
(I still need those journalists to go out to Iraq and Iran and Afghanistan and Europe and everywhere else to do that reporting stuff, oh and attend conferences where they talk about climate **** and stuff)
blogging is easy: you sit at home after you've been paid your salary and done your other job.
And channel traffic through cute remarks to earn some extra cash on the sly.
Real journalism: the kind that opened up Watergate, the kind that has people investigating, that kind costs of a heck of a lot of money, comes at great expense to people's lives and integrity:demands a community of people working together, and demands an upfront investment.

but hey, let's abandon all that and do that kind of stuff that comes for free
