Blu-ray Will Die...

...Thanks to real people/regular folks/average consumers, who have already been through the "re-buy the collection" routine (VHS to DVD) and feel burned by the greedy corporations as a result.

Bottom line: the difference between Standard DVD and Blu-ray is not great enough (nowhere near the difference between VHS and DVD) to merit another rebuy cycle for struggling consumers in a weak economy.

Meanwhile, the remaining brick-and-mortar stores like Best Buy continue to aggressively push Blu-ray in consumers' faces full-force, as a result, pushing us out the door...and off to Amazon.com!

Standard DVD is fine, more than sufficiently high quality, and permanent. No need for Blu-ray, ever. Unless you're sadistically addicted to counting pores on the faces of lousy actors.
