One Windows to rule them all........
Jason, your suggestion is, in my opinion, an excellent and eminently sensible idea. It won't happen because of three things: profit, greed and Microsoft's concentration on what suits it best rather than the wellbeing of its customers. But would I like to see it happen ? Absolutely. It would simplify things enormously for so many people in the IT and business worlds. It makes such enormous sense that I am certain that Microsoft HAS already thought of this. That it has obviously been rejected speaks volumes for how Microsoft views its users: utter disdain for their actual needs.
