Kindle 3.0 and Beyond
Good post, Larry.

I agree that we're closer to the beginning of Kindle than the end.

I finally looked at one recently and was amazed at how easy it was to navigate. Features such as the dictionary were really intuitive. Still, I was shocked that a color option wasn't available. Also, it's my understanding after talking to my publishing house that Amazon still sees the Kindle as more of a tool for simple fiction books. I could be wrong, but I don't believe that it currently supports images, graphs, and charts (all of which were in my book and I had to modify to make it Kindle-friendly).

Future
I'm sure that this is on the Horizon. In two or three years, I'd bet that we'll see an Ipodesque evolution to supporting richer text, color, and pictures. If Kindle doesn't do it, then something else would.
