Teradata v Exadata
Regarding Exadata disk scanning capability, I'd like to offer a reference to a Winter Corporation assessment of Exadata. In the report there is clear coverage of the topic of table scanning:

I'd also like to point out one small nit about this article. Several times the word Exabyte is used where Exadata is intended.
