They ALL do that - your run out of one color and
it won't print.

Your best bet is a color laser printer. At 2-3x
the cost.

Or we could go back to the dot matrix days -
Epson MX-80's for $600+ and ribbons for $5.
I'll take today's prices and convenience.

I've tried refills and non-oem inks. Killed
each of the 3 printers I tried them on after 6-
12 months.
