The same is true for liberals who are manipulated by conservatives to seem out of touch with America.

The point is, the very nature of media today concentrates on the extremes (left and right) in order to capture eyeballs. It's safe to say that America is well within the bell curve of normal. It's those at the extreme ends, both left and right, who are out of touch.
