its interesting to see how technology school are the late adopters
I attend Polytechnic university (now known as nyu poly) we
are suppose to be this cutting edge technology research
school right, yet we are in the dark ages when it comes to
computer resource management and usage. The amount of
paper this school uses is unjustified for. What is
interesting tho, the computer science department is
hard core windows and still on windows server 2000 and
2003, but the digital media department ( cinema,
animation, game dev) has user accounts setup for all if its
students, with remote login and remote hdd, a simple
thing yet pleasant, small pleasantries such as that make
life much easier, we keep saying how the american school
system is technologically inferior to europe's and japan's,
ok maybe this is true, but even greater problem is that our
universities are more backwards than our high school or
lower, new teaching techniques sometimes needs to start
at the top than trickle down if teh top is still using copy
machines and staplers than there is nothing to trickle
down, congrats to U Missouri
