A real possibility.

If Facebook waits to long to monetize their site then they are going to
run into users being very annoyed at the change. Facebook risks waiting
so long to monetize that they won't ever be able to. If they stop growing
because people move to other services then they will be just another
failed web 2.0 company that never turned a profit. All the users in the
world doesn't mean a thing, they are fickle and will move onto the next
thing for the slightest reason.
