"Nvidia says the CPU doesn?t matter. Intel says the GPU doesn?t matter. It?s the melding of these two technologies that will give us efficiencies in the future."

With cheap and effective embedded graphics, Intel pulled the rug out from under the GPU makers. So they effectively did the "melding" long ago. AMD is trying desperately to catch up, but they WASTED billions of dollars on the ATI merger by overpaying on the stock and then letting internal squabbles block innovation.

I hope AMD succeeds because it keeps Intel competitive pricewise and techwise. But AMD is making a lot of devil's bargains just to stay alive after a series of stunning mistakes, and the future is not bright for them. Pretending that they are thought-leaders and failing to learn from their mistakes will kill them for sure.
