Funny how some company type demands ethics of its workers, but shows NO ethics at all toward its workers. Companies want 2 weeks notice, but give no notice to laid off employees, and frequently no severance. These people's lives have been upset. They've been F'ed in the backside in a very bad economy. I wonder if Micro$ucks laid off their H1B visa holders or U.S. citizens? Whoever ranted about banning workers who didn't pay back the pittance has probably never been dumped by a company, or never had a company NOT pay what is due (I have had the latter happen twice). Ethics would be a good thing if both sides played by the rules, but ethics as foisted onto engineers by companies is all one-sided. What if the $$ has already been spent to survive? Do you have to take back a loan to give them their pound of flesh? Screw them, keep it, Micro$ucks likely won't hire them back in any case. I never did hear of a tech company that "recalls" laid off workers.
