HD TV is NOT DTV
"What was the importance of HDTV?"

Well for those who have the equipment? A very pretty picture. However this is NOT to be confused with DTV (Digital TV) - they are two very different things. If people saved like they are supposed to, coming up with $40-80 would not be an issue right now - its still the fault of the individual, not the Government.
