Dell could increase their carbon output and just buy more carbon credits from some agency with vague claims of planting trees, none of which is ever shown. It does nothing to reduce footprint.

Carbon Neutrality is a ploy, and carbon trading is an advertising cost, not an environmental stance.

Vetting will likely be done by the same agencies that run carbon markets, and anyone buying in will be vetted quickly.
