I have compiled a list of things coming from my experience and posted them a series of posts on my blog: http://maffulli.net/2008/10/03/mac-os-x-vs-gnu-my-personal-summary-23/

In summary, OS X lacks software and support out-of-the-box for many peripherals that indeed work *flawlessly* in GNU/Linux. My HP all-in-one scanner, for example, cannot work on OS X Leopard. Same for the Samsung OGG/MP3 player. These are big faults.
