RE: Salesforce joins Google for more cloud morphing
Have either of these companies solved the data ownership questions? How about good tech support, long term data storage and long term data accessibility? What is security like?

Again, over and over we hear about these cloud computer companies trying to ram a paradigm down consumer throats with out addressing consumer needs.

All it takes is for one of these companies to have a bad couple of quarters financially and your data needs become emergencies.

Xdrive went out of business and they gave their users a whole 48 hours to save the data the consumers had on their cloud. Awesome!! Do business users have the kind of resources to keep moving from one cloud vendor to another in an endless cycle of loss and recovery?

ROI. Return on Investment. How many people do I have to pay to manage my cloud vendors and maintain my own IT because there are still some things even the cloud admits you should not put on the cloud.

If a cloud vendor goes belly up which can happen in this recessionary world economy, what kind of exit strategy are the consumers looking at??? A quick e-mail saying "Our investors are selling our servers to recoup some of their losses, you have 5 minutes to save your data on another machine before it gets deleted from our cloud. Have a nice day."
