Who would want the job is a better question.
Why would anyone want to take on this job? I'm sure it pays more than I currently make, but look at how they treated Yang. Would you expect to be treated any better?

Personally, I never liked the Ya-micro-hoo idea. The two companies had too many overlapping services and offerings, and I thought that MS should have focused on improving it's own anemic web offerings rather than buying up a faltering competitor.

However Yang should have accepted the offer and run (not walked) to the bank to cash the check.

He made a bad call regarding the MS deal, no doubt about it, but the worst decision he made was allowing Icahn onto the board. Why would you allow the paid assassin who is after you're head into a position of power? I don't know, but now Yang is paying the price.

Icahn is sure to undermine and sabotage anyone who replaces Yang.

So I believe that the real question is not "who will they select?", it is "who will be fool enough to accept?".

As always, this is just my $0.02 USD based on 30+ years in the computing field and your opinion may well vary.

Regards,
Jon
