Sure, Nothing is as good as Gasoline.
I worked in the automobile industry for years
including development on hybrid vehicles.

Gasoline has the best energy density, but its going to
be gone. A serial electric/gasoline hybrid like GM's
Chevy Volt is the way to go for the near future. The
best thing about electricity is that the
infrastructure for delivery is already in place.
Plug in your car at night and for most of us you never
need another fuel. If you need to make a longer trip,
the on board gasoline generator kicks in and you are
good to go.

And don't forget coal. Most electricity is produced
with it and we have a lot of it.
