Typical elitist attitude. Not all of us live in a warm, urban area. Where I live, SUVs are necessary if you wish to get around in the winter, not to mention getting away from civilization for awhile to preserve our sanity. SUVs also excel at tasks that would kill one of your little shoe box econocars, such as pulling a trailer or carrying more than two people in comfort and safety.
