I worked for a company that decided to pursue a Netsuite implementation working with one of their "highly recommended" local VARs and the experience was lesson in when a project should be abandoned. They (the VAR and Netsuite themselves) made many promises that their software could never approach fulfilling. The company finally pulled the plug 18 months and $60k later when it was abundantly clear that Netsuite would never be able to meet the functionality promised. Losses would have exceeded $100k if the lawyers had not convinced Netsuite and the VAR to refund certain fees.
