- Exactly what did Apple do to be put on the list?

iPhone 3G? Feh... It's all been done before. 3G is nothing new. Touch screen (even multitouch) is nothing new. App store? Eh.. Ok.. It's "new" for Apple, but come on. There have been app stores before. You'd know that if you ever had a Palm PDA.
The new Macbooks? Feh.. It's a unibody case. Big whoop. Cars have had unibody construction since the mid 1960's. Nothing really earth shattering there.
