The first part of you post...
made sense. The second part goes against everything the enterprise is about. They do not want new IT crap that is untested and unproven.

This is the problem with IT today - more and more of its proponents don't have a clue about business. The Enterprise is tired of spending money on IT just because it's IT. Business has thrown tons of money down a money pit with negative returns.

Your premise of might and possibly could is just not what an enterprise wants. If you can show them this will up the bottom line, fine. Otherwise let someone else toss their goods into the pit.

Startups need to prove their worth and pay their dues. Then the Enterprise may want to talk to them.
