Yes, since Google would only have ONE data center where ALL the data would be stored then I see your point. Oh wait, they wouldn't just have one and making these offshore data centers doesn't mean they will completely get rid of their land-based ones. So, I don;t really see your point...

And speaking of land.. isn't that where earthquakes knock down buildings that house data centers? AAAARGH!!! RUUUUUUN, the earthquakes are going to destroy al the World's DATA!!!!!!!

Oh my, engineering challenges are so scary. Everyone should just hide and not do anything.
