Microsoft promotes Open Source too
hamobu said:
Further more, Google promotes open source, and anyone who promotes open source can't be that bad.

Funny you think that. Microsoft has an Open Source strategy too (http://www.microsoft.com/opensource/), and have released more and more projects as OSS. Indoubtedbly, their motivation is to persuade people with opinions like yours, which automatically think "open source" = "good guys". I'm not saying it's bad, but I'm saying that's not the wisest judgement to make, and it certainly isn't anything to prove Google's lack of evil.

If you need evidence of Google evilness, try becoming a customer of their main business, that is advertising.

When money is involved, every business will be centered on its own profits, that's the way it goes. The bigger the corporation, the more important the numbers are, and the less important the means and the methods. So it's inevitable that a successful business will become "evil".
