Anton Philidor's post says it all and I agree totally, news without drama is boring. So if there was no drama add some. Reporting on this is less than exciting or controversial and the same thing occurred in at least the last 2 quarters of 2007. It all just seems out of sync with what is expected in these daily blogs.

This is a basic business event, so arbitrage that difference and try to make some money, the hedge they mention. That is part of the CFO's responsibility. It's not a gravy train which to me implies something for nothing, and the current gain would simply go to offset all the years where your numbers would appear lower than they should be. They still gained whatever market share they now have and sold X number of widgets or services which is the data that should be used to evaluate performance of the company, by itself currency gains or loses would be useful to measure the performance of a CFO.

And to generate a lot of questions seems odd since every analyst on these calls know this and are interested in only one thing; is your crystal ball better than the next guys? They should know the effect going in. I just don't see a lot of use for this in this type of forum. Sorry Larry.
