Tech Policy should be highest priority.
No one in congress or the presidential race has a clue
about technology, which is the basis of our entire
economy. And everyone wonders why we are falling
behind in the world. Energy technology should be the
number one issue -- primarily solar and fusion.
Broadband Internet access should be next as it promotes
energy conservation (less driving), and we are now 15th in
the word in broadband. Fluorescent lights are bad all the
way around -- we need cheap high quality white LEDs or
OLED panels. On and on, but very little is being done. We
need engineers, not lawyers and politicians. The latter are
incapable of contributing anything useful while the former
are decreasing in number. Big problems, but no help from
the politicians.
