- EC2 is Amazon's cloud computing service and not it's storage service (storage service is S3). Adding persistence capabilities to EC2 is big. We are currently looking at cloud computing services and Amazon was not really viable to us without persistence. This moves makes it a very interesting (and cheap) alternative to traditional hosting offerings.
