eBay has blown it
eBay has driven off its good sellers by raising fees to ridiculous levels, completely destroying the feedback system, selective rules enforcement, and failing to go after bad sellers/buyers.

We used to use eBay as our primary means of marketing items, we are power sellers maintaining near 100% feedback, but the fees and policy changes just got to be too ridiculous. When you are giving eBay the top 20% of your sale through eBay and PayPal fees, not able to defend yourself from bad purchases (not too many but enough to hurt financially), and then be harassed by eBay it just isn't worth it. There are simply too many other options available.

An example of the harassment by eBay was an auction for a Zune that my wife had bought for herself. After using it for a couple of months she decided to sell it and get an iPod. The device was hardly used so she put "like new" in the auction description. After a couple of days into the auction it just disappeared. She couldn't find it anywhere. No email from eBay, no nothing. My wife contacted eBay. Upon reaching customer service she was told the auction had been removed because the term "like new" is considered misleading. BULL. She asked why she wasn't notified. The customer service rep didn't say anything. She then asked why her auction was singled out. The rep said that she wasn't. When asked if she wasn't singled out then why were there thousands of auctions with "like new" in the system the rep again couldn't say anything.

Best of luck to eBay. Overseas markets won't prop them up forever.
