Difficult to fly out of the gilden cage
Unfortunately, a lot of companies are just too tied up to make a bold move and kick the software vendors where it hurts. And this is because their data is in those systems, and those systems are actually delivering most of their requirements.

When doing the math, they'll prefer to do a tug-of-war with their current vendor on license pricing then go through the entire exercise of negotiation, gap analysis, delivery, testing, migration, change requests and performance tuning only to end up in the same spot with another vendor
