The failure of pointing out the main facts here seems to be a little more then illogical. SAP and other software vendors that offer products geared towards business are aiming for the larger companies (i.e. Dow, General Electric, Dupont, etc). The going trend is outsource so they do not incure the added expense of benefits (i.e. healthcare, etc) With the savings their and the fact that all support must go through a negotiating process and final approval from a buyer and finance departments the cost actually becomes minimal compared to the gain in gross profits from cutting internal IT staff. The profits that SAP and the like will make off these larger corporations will more then make up for the losses they will sustain by raising their support fees. There is a choice Enterpise software like SAP, or going with a SMB package to save money.
