Centrino 2 processor
25 watts for a processor aimed at battery powered laptops??!!?? What world does Intel live in? Why not use the ARM chip which is widely used in low power devices such as mobile phones and set top boxes because it has such a high MIPS per watt rating. Why this mad rush for ever faster chips to cope with ever more bloated applications providing more and more features that most users have no need for? The software companies need to concentrate of slimming down their products to minimise their demands on processing power, thus reducing the demand for electrical power and so reducing global warming, not to mention the enormous waste as millions of slower computers are thrown away and huge amounts of energy are used to make millions of faster more energy-hungry machines, which in their turn will also become trash.

It will hurt a little now, but I'll spend my money on AMD.  softwareFlunky | 07/15/08
Thanks for the article guys. Is it 45nm or 65nm?  joe.smetona@... | 07/15/08
