I need clarification
Essentially, all that have innovated to create, or that will innovate with, software distributed under Red Hat brands are protected, as are Red Hat customers.
That sounds like a Novell-M$ pact!
The only way to be compatible to GPL3 is to buy the patent and release it to FOSS or to extend the legal protection to others.
What do Red Hat means by derivative work: the use of the entire product, some single file from the source code or a certain % of source code files?
