Intel has always been the "Alpha male"
AMDs spot at the top of x86 chip performance was relatively short lived and only happened because Intel became complacent. It's not likely they'll let that happen again. I've always been an AMD fan because I like rooting for the underdog. Most of the PCs I've built in the last 6 years have been AMD but the last two were Intel core 2 duo and quad systems. AMDs quad core Phenom chip was a major disappointment considering an almost 2 year old Q6600 beats it in most benchmarks. AMD has just not been able to execute with a competitive processor....
