Have satellite sub already, don't need another
I think subscriptions are fine, as long as you realize you are leasing music and have no rights.

I buy the music I like and that I want to keep. I have bought 6 CDs already this year because I sampled some of the tunes via my satellite radio subscription and it was cheaper for me to buy the high fidelity CD from Amazon for less than lo-fi mp3/aac formatted tunes on Amazon or the iTunes store. I then rip to mp3 for my Sansa and iPod, I use them in my car all the time and it sure beats carrying a box of CDs around all the time.

So I do this already, using my subscription to help me find music that the brain dead corporate radio stations never seem to get around to. And I can hear the qualitative difference between a CD and the same song as mp3 at 256k. So the CD is my preference when I am ready to buy. And yes, if there is only one tune I like on a given album I will just buy that tune from Amazon or iTunes store for a buck and be done with it.

I would not need more than one subscription service since I got one already.
