I think you failed to consider one more scenario.
If News Corp. actually does plan to buy Yahoo, why would they want to continue using Google as a search client and ad service provider when they have just brought Yahoo into their web house?
Plus if News Corp does purchase/partner with Yahoo, News Corp wouldn't be able to extend the Google partnership to the Yahoo properties without having regulators throw up flags.
